What Is An Inquest?

An Inquest is a legal investigation conducted by a Coroner to determine how, when and where a person died and will take place where the deceased person died in sudden, unexplained or suspicious circumstances. It is a fact finding exercise rather than apportioning blame. Nevertheless the Inquest is an opportunity to ask questions of witnesses and other parties that may be involved in the inquest and our lawyers can represent you at the hearing so that you can get the answers you need.

At the conclusion of the Inquest the Coroner will give a verdict on the cause of death. Our lawyers can advise you of the implications of the verdict and provide advice on any further action that could be taken.
